Finally, we come to the last entry in the applying-to-college series of blog posts. I hope the past few weeks have been helpful and instructive for you. I’m going to finish up the series today by talking about the final step in the college applications process: actually applying to college. This can be a pretty daunting task, because you certainly don’t want to leave anything out. You get one shot at each application, so you need to make sure each one is as good as it can be.

The first thing you need to do is make sure you have a list of what applications are due on what dates. Colleges don’t all have the same application due dates, so you want to make sure you are finishing the earliest ones first. And this doesn’t even go into the craziness of early action, early decision, and the like. There’s a whole lot going on here, so you’ll definitely want to keep track of the info. How? In a surfmark of course.

That information is some of the most important you’ll find. If you miss a deadline, universities will not be forgiving. They receive thousands of applications, and if you don’t demonstrate your interest and responsibility, they won’t give you a second thought. In other words, don’t miss deadlines.

Next, make sure you have everything assembled together. This includes your transcript, any recommendations the university requests, the application essay, standardized test scores, and any other supplementary information that you need to submit. Again, think of ways you can keep all of this organized. Surfmark comes in handy here because it allows you to compartmentalize. All of your information will be in one place for you to access at any time. It will make your life a lot easier. And, after all, who needs more stress? Not you.

So go ahead, get ready to dive into the excitement of applying to college. This is a big step on the way to four of the most fun and exciting years of your young life. Enjoy it, and keep on surfmarking!
